What is Liquid Chromatograph ?
Liquid chromatograph is an instrument which uses the difference of distribution ratio of mixture between liquid-solid or immiscible two liquids to separate the mixture first and then analyze and identify it.
Influence of Air Bubble
Bubbles are easy to escape and affect the operation of the pump. They will also affect the separation efficiency of the column, affect the sensitivity and baseline stability of the detector, and even make it impossible to detect. In addition, oxygen dissolved in the mobile phase may react with the sample, mobile phase or even stationary phase (such as alkyl amine). The dissolved gas will also cause the change of the pH of the solvent, which will bring errors to the separation or analysis results.
Therefore, dissolved gas removal in the mobile phase is a very effective measure for HPLC system to obtain reliable data. Considering that the mobile phase of HPLC contains some organic solvents with low surface tension, and the conventional membrane material is easy to be wetted, resulting in the problems of liquid seepage and low degassing efficiency, Cobetter developed PTFE membrane, which has ultra-low surface tension, long-term hydrophobicity and long service life for deoxygenation and gas dehumidification.
